| 1866, essay of 5k in carmine, additionally handpainted in blue (central oval and crown), made on horizontally laid paper with full OG, very fresh, previously hinged, VF and probably UNIQUE, ex-Kirchner, Faberge. For the first time this essay was offered to the public on famous Faberge's Sale at the Harmer Auction in 1940, lot #333. Last time it was sold at our Auction #22 in February of 2005 for $2,310 . |
