Kashgar (Sinkiang Prov.)

Due to Russian Revolution of 1917 and Civil War of 1918 Chinese merchants became anxious for safety of their wealth and sent their money to parent companies in Tientsin. These mailings were in form of money letters, each containing 500 roubles, the highest amount permitted. The following three covers representing such correspondences

1918, money letter for 500r from Russian PO in Kashgar to Tientsin, franked by Imperial 70k and 5r (high value franking is scarce), tied by "Kashgar. Kit. Vlad. 25.5.18" ds, another Kashgar "10.6.18" is on reverse, PO wax seals, minor conveyance flaws, still VF .
