1776-59, 14 pre-philatelic items, including Catherine the Great, envelope for Royal mailings on laid paper with watermark "Crown "M" 1778" (tear at top), entire letter from Tambov to Borisoglebsk (1799), Moscow Pochtamt receipt on "Double Headed Eagle" watermarked paper (1843), mailings bearing pre-adhesive period markings of St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kozlov, Spassk, Tula, Tver and etc., money letter from Lipetsk to Tambov (1855), all mounted on original pages from the Collection and meticulously described, mostly VF condition

Selection of Pre-Philatelic and Official Mailings

1804-71, 14 items, including 11 pre-philatelic or paid in cash entire letters or wrappers, most valuable ones are from Mozdok to Tambov of 1804, disinfected from Memel to Paris via Prussia and forwarded to Mayenne in 1831, others are less expensive and sent from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Lipetsk, Odessa and etc., in addition one official entire from police station in St. Petersburg and two 10k stationery envelopes to Tambov or Vilno, mainly fresh quality unit, F/VF
